
Michel Rolland is a winemaker of extraordinary accomplishment, having crafted countless of the world’s most celebrated wines. While his mastery is legendary, it is his particular affinity for the Merlot based wines of Bordeaux’s right bank, as well as his preference for crafting wines of deep flavor, beautiful construct and authentic sense of place that makes him ideal to guide the winemaking for Adams French Vineyards.
From his laboratory in nearby Libourne, Rolland works closely with our resident winemakers to craft wines that showcase the quality and distinction of each property. In the vineyard, carefully timed leaf-pulling and cluster-thinning promote fully ripened and deeply flavored grapes, while in the cellar, separate lot winemaking, malolactic fermentation in new oak and sur lie aging enhance the wine’s natural roundness, richness and depth.
